Trump Needs Your Love

Donald Trump is a narcissist.  OK…but then so are we all.

A degree of narcissism is necessary to a healthy personality.  Too much is a sign of insecurity

Trump, of course, is accused of pathological narcissism – along with everything else.  But he is also a showman type of guy running for President so, the establishment media hates him and smears him at any opportunity – so it’s hard to tell.

Let’s assume, however, for the sake of the argument that Trump is an insecure narcissist.  For a President that’s a good thing – because an insecure narcissist wants above all – love  and a President, Trump would prioritize the love of the People.  No, not the love of the One Percent, how have already shown they despise him –  which is something that a person like Trump will neither forgive nor forget.  In fact, he will want revenge.  Which is good for most of us

The One Percent probably know this – so they have unleashed their attack dogs – the Mass Media.

Keep in mind that Trump, unlike Clinton, is not an ideologue.

As Scott Adams has pointed out, he listens to the Crowd, adapting and evolving his positions to reflect the collective mind.  Bottom up…this is direct democracy.

The Clintons, by contrast, despise ordinary people. They are the ultimate social climbers.  Not narcissists perhaps. Ideologues certainly.  Sociopaths possibly.  Greedy materialists certainly.

I would much prefer Jill Klein as President.  But, barring that, I would rather have someone in power who listens to the People, who wants their approval, as Trump obviously does, rather than the Tin Woman, Hillary, who may gone to Oz’ but never got a heart.

If you are like me, you will vote Jill Klein, siphoning off votes from Hillary – strengthening an authentic progressive position, while perhaps saving the million or so lives that Hillary would snuff out of existence in some future war if she became President.

Hillary the Avatar vs Trump the Person

If you vote for Hillary, you are not voting for a person, you are voting for an avatar that speaks for a group of people.   Whatever Hillary was as an individual personality has been subsumed by a collective identity for which she is merely a mouthpiece.

We are simple creatures, of course.  We evolved for life in small groups, where everyone shared the same basic culture and beliefs – and individual difference was really that – individual – always granted so long as it did not threaten others. We want to think that Hillary is a person --
singular  rather than a plurality.  So most people don’t see her as an avatar, an icon, a personification of something.

     Who does Hillary speak for?

She speaks for a coalition of tribes – Wall Street, large corporations, the upper echelons of government and military – the rich and the privileged. Sounds like a crowd -- but it is actually a small group. They would all fit in one grand party in Martha’s Vineyard.

Hillary is a professional politician. She was never one of the Few – rather, she was brought up to aspire to power, in the same way that Rome’s Equestrian class aspired to become patricians—and, of course, occasionally came to do so.

By contrast, Trump already had money and power.  He was born a patrician.   He does not aspire to join the Few – he’s already there.  He needs to prove nothing.

    Who does he speak for?

Mostly – just for himself.  Which is why he is inconsistent and often…um… impolitic.

Keep that word in your head – impolitic

Trump does not do politics as Hillary does.
Hillary is not an honest woman.  And, in fact, she clearly perjured herself when she declared under oath that she knew nothing about the transfer of Libyan weapons to Syria prior to Benghazi.  Hillary knows that politics is all about artful obfuscation of agendas; she is only too aware that personal belief and opinion mean zilch compared to policy; that one must lie gracefully.

It is Trump who is called the liar. He is in fact, rather honest. Honest enough to unselfconsciously contradict himself.  He just says what he wants, without considering too much the impact on those who might disagree.

When you are born a patrician, that’s one of the perks.

So does Trump care about ideology?    Obviously not at all – which is why he has singlehandedly destroyed the GOP – at the same time directly confronting Liberals who would reduce the working classes  to a mob of intellectually lazy, uninformed, racist, sexist yahoos.

Politically incorrect or not -- he brings real issues to the fore.  His comments to the Khans were ... yes ... impolitic.  But the fact is that their son died because the US embarked on an illegal -- and unconstitutional -- war.  Trump did not support it.  Hillary did.  Hillary has killed a lot of Middle Eastern people.  Trump? None at all.

Trump is an avatar for Trump.   This is not to say that I would vote for Trump -- not when there is a perfectly sensible alternative in Jill Stein.   Just that he is the Lesser Evil.

American Socialism: End Times

All Western countries are socialist.

Traditional socialism was a Labor movement empowering the working class and unions.  And it was remarkably successful –it gave us a huge middle class, improved healthcare and education.  The rich took notice – and appropriated the idea for their exclusive use.

Nowadays, modern socialism empowers the ruling class – cradle to grave – adding to their considerable privilege.  Think about it: who benefits most from your tax money?  When was the last time that a Hedge Fund manager ended up sleeping on park bench?  What exactly is "too big to fail"?

The Few provide us with just enough to keep us comfortable, just as Rome’s patricians did for the Plebeians – drawing upon the resources of empire.

Oh, we are happy.  Bread and circuses – or hamburgers and TV. And a lot of masturbation.

Paid for by the sweat of some 10-year girl working 12 hours a day in Bangladesh.

Why do “We the People” permit this?

Because we are lazy.

We are still what we evolved to be 5000 years ago.  We want to fill our stomachs, fuck, relax, play and sleep.  As Paleolithic hunters, we did not have governments.  Nobody owned anything – it was just us and our mates, looking after each other.

You cannot expect ‘change’ until you:
•    get hungry
•    feel disconnected and fearful
•    cannot play or relax

But the Middle Class is now the Precariat.  Things are getting worse and worse.

Ordinary people are looking up at the Patricians and asking why they can’t have socialism too.

In the case of the Romans, the Plebeians just opened the gates to the Barbarians and that was that.  The Equestrians -- the Roman version of our white liberal class -- were slaughtered.

The Jacobins had their solution --as did revolutionaries in Russia.   Justice?   What goes ‘round, comes ‘round. Inevitably -- in these situations of generalized public violence -- people die -- usually liberals, the semi-affluent.  Of course, people are already dying– in foreign lands.

The Poor?  They are always dying.

In the US, Hillary is the last gasp of American Upper Class socialism -- aka "neoliberalism".

So,Trump is not a politician.  He is a Sign.  A lot of people are not happy.   What goes ‘round, comes ‘round.

Do I see dead people in America's future?  Yes, a lot.

Real social change is not gradual.  It is a sudden mutation.   Those that adapt, survive. Most therefore become extinct. There is always a Tipping Point.  And that will be soon.
